Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme (RSVP) 59Willmott Road, Sutton Coldfield B75 5NR
Schools Volunteers Volunteers will be trained and CRB checked and then placed in their local Solihull primary school to provide individual attention to children, supporting their learning in English and/ or Maths. This one-on-one support can improve childrens’ progress through the National Curriculum, and and increase their confidence and willingness to learn. This volunteer role has proven to be extremely rewarding for RSVP’s existing 4,000 schools volunteers all across the UK.
Tasks Involved: Volunteers share their skills and experience to volunteer and make a difference to a child’s life. Our volunteers in schools are recruited, trained and supported by their local branch of RSVP, placing them with the children who need their help, encouraging their full potential in reading and math’s. Volunteers will need to commit to a minimum of 10 hours support for a child, attending the school each week for at least one hour.
Skills needed: No skills needed, volunteers must be eager to work with young people
Benefits to Volunteer: Some of RSVP’s volunteers find tremendous enjoyment and satisfaction in working with children to improve their English and Math’s skills.
