ACTIVITIES VOLUNTEER

Tasks involved: Supporting the staff of Solihull Young Carers on trips out and activity days with young carers aged between 9-18.  Making sure that the young people are safe and enjoy themselves.  Helping support staff with setting up/clearing away after events.

Skills needed – an understanding of the sensitive issues surrounding young carers, ability to maintain confidentiality, confident working with young people.  Driving licence preferable, but not essential.

Benefits to volunteer: You will be working in a fun environment with young people giving them the opportunity to spend time away from their caring role.  

Times/Days required: during school holidays, evenings and some weekends.

Special requirements: Enhanced CRB check. Must be over 18. Willing to go on relevant training (child protection, first aid)
