Volunteer youth worker

Tasks Involved: Tonight, you could be teaching a group of young people anything from how to take better photographs, to the dangers of drug abuse, or be helping them arrange a bowling trip, helping to lead one of our youth groups for 5-10-year-olds or 10-17-year-olds.

Skills needed: - Educated to GCSE grade E or above - Ability to relate to young people - Desire to take on a new challenge - Ability to learn new skills and the willingness to put these into practice - A great sense of humour!

 

Benefits to Volunteer: Gain experience in working with young people, training given

 

Times / Days: Thursday evenings, 6.30-8.00pm

Volunteer first aider

Tasks Involved: Being trained in first aid and providing first aid to members of the public at events such as football matches, concerts and theatre productions. Volunteers can progress training to become an ambulance attendant if they wish.

Skills needed: - Completed secondary education or equivalent - Ability to work as part of a team. Good verbal communication skills. Ability to work under direction of a line manager

 

Benefits to Volunteer: Gain experience and training in first aid and make new friends
